If you have already invented a product or a process and you think it is patentable, it is better you do some research and find out if there are any similar products available. And if there are such products, then compare yours with them. If you find your product distinctive, go for filing for patents filing a patent application. However, in judging the distinctiveness of your product, be objective and analyze your product dispassionately.

If you find it distinctive, find a good patent attorney and soon you’ll have patent protection under patent laws.
