Making Presentations: Minimize Text

Any PowerPoint presentation or poster presentation needs to have as little text as possible. While SMIL multimedia presentation, remember that these visual aids are only guidelines that are meant to help and support your speech.

In a PowerPoint presentation, it should be a very brief outline on the slides; nothing too much. If you end up writing everything on the PowerPoint, you don't even have to be there to say it. The audience can just read what you have to say.

For a poster presentation, you should have fewer words and more charts and graphs. The more words that are on a poster, that leaves less room for your supporting data.
