What Happens If You Inherit An Ira?

October 10, 2008 on 2:40 pm | By admin | In Finance :: Wealth-Building

A beneficiary is a person who will inherit an Ira either when the holder of the person who has been making Ira contributions to the Ira becomes deceased or when they have made the decision to sign the Ira over to the beneficiary. If You inherit an Ira from a spouse and then you have one of three choices to make about the Ira which include keep the Ira as your own and start making the contributions, roll the Ira contributions into an existing Ira that you already have, or keep the Ira as you continuing to be the beneficiary which means when it is time to disburse the funds, they will come to you but you wont have to make contributions.

Thoughts On Online Banking

September 4, 2008 on 7:41 am | By admin | In Finance :: Wealth-Building

I’m firing Citibank. They just aren’t a great deal anymore for my money. I’m looking at Washington Mutual instead, and some of the other online banks as well. Much better deals to be had. It’s your money, after all, and the banks make money off it just by virtue of having it. It hardly seems right that they would nickel and dime you to death with fees on top of it. Specifically, online savings accounts deals is a great deal. They pay good rates, and don’t charge all of those hidden fees that the big boys are always hitting you with. Frankly, I couldn’t care less about meeting a banker in person. I’d much rather do my banking online with a click or two than wait in line at the branch. You might want to look into the benefits of online banking yourself. I’ll be looking forward to your comments.

401k Rollover Annuity Plans

August 31, 2008 on 9:42 pm | By admin | In Finance :: Wealth-Building

One must also note that 401k rollover options are many and you may change your investments as desired and manage them well. Another advantage is that with most of the 401k rollover annuity plans offers loans. While opting for a 401k rollover annuity it would be good if you could take advice from a financial planner who would be able to chart out a strategy that is tailor made to your specific needs. By getting help you can ensure that you do not make any mistakes during the rollover and you do not lose any money in the process.

The Skinny On SEP IRA Plans

August 21, 2008 on 2:42 pm | By admin | In Finance :: Wealth-Building

So the new job offers employees
SEP IRA Plans for retirement. I have no idea how they work. They look a bit more flexible than 401ks at first glance, but I don’t know for sure.
I’ve been poking around the net checking out info on Sep Retirement, but it’s complicated. It’s just not he sort of thing I like to spend my time thinking about. But of course it has to be done.
It will be good to get some tax savings out of the deal at least. There are few enough ways to get ahead of the ever-growing tax monster these days.
I’ll post more soon.

Learning About Online Banking

You know, I’m sick and tired of getting a lousy rate on my savings. I’ve decided to check out online savings accounts. It’s plain to me that most of the options there are a much better deal than I’ve been getting. It’s your money, after all, and the banks make money off it just by virtue of having it. It hardly seems right that they would nickel and dime you to death with fees on top of it. Specifically, online savings accounts deals is a great deal. I’d much rather do my banking online with a click or two than wait in line at the branch. More people should check out internet banks instead of big banks. I’ll post more soon.

About Selling Structured Settlements

August 9, 2008 on 9:40 pm | By admin | In Finance :: Wealth-Building

I’ve been checking out
Selling Structured Settlements lately. It’s a touch decision - a certain lump-sum versus a long-term payment with bankruptcy risks.
Trying to find unbiased information on
Structured Settlement Sales online has been tough. Most folks offering info on the subject have an ulterior motive of some sort or another.
I’m hoping I’ll be able to get enough information to make an informed choice.
What do you think?

The need for simplicity

July 16, 2008 on 9:43 pm | By admin | In Finance :: Wealth-Building

I like to keep things simple and it is because of this that I decided to look at opening one of the many Singapore offshore bank accounts that are now available on the market for the business traveler who wants to keep control of his finances on a global basis. I had to pay to open the account but I think it was well worth the money because I can now control my finances much easier than I could before. It really was well worth the time.

Considering Structured Settlement Sales

July 14, 2008 on 2:42 pm | By admin | In Finance :: Wealth-Building

I’ve recently become interested in Structured Settlement Sales. Structured settlements can provide a nice source of long-term income, but some people prefer a lump-sum payout.
My inquiries into Structured Settlement Lump Sum Playments on the Internet have done little to bring me closer to a decision. It’s been frustrating - there aren’t very many unbiased sources of information.
The time to make a decision is coming up soon. I hope I’ll be able to make the right choice based on what I can find.
Let me know what you think about all this.

About SEP IRA Retirement Plans

June 14, 2008 on 2:40 pm | By admin | In Finance :: Wealth-Building

Learned today that my employer offers
SEP IRA Retirement Plans instead of 401ks. I know nothing about them. Time to do some research.
I’ve been researching Sep Plans on the Internet this afternoon - found some decent beginner information. There’s still a lot to learn, though.

Online Banking

You know, those big marble halls at big banks may look impressive, but the fact is that they’re paid for by the customers. They just aren’t necessary anymore. You’re much better off with online bank accounts nowadays. I’m particularly fed up with earning .5% interest for the privilege of lending my money to the bank. Enough is enough. Especially in light of the sorts of rates the same banks charge you when they lend you money. I personally like WaMu Online Personal Checking. I’ve been with them for a couple of years now, and have no complaints. I’ve saved a lot of money as well. Who cares if the big banks have more ATMs when they will refund your ATM fees from any other Bank? Now I can use any ATM in town. More people should check out internet banks instead of big banks.

Learning About SEP IRA Retirement Plans

May 30, 2008 on 2:41 pm | By admin | In Finance :: Wealth-Building

Just started a new job that uses
SEP IRA Retirement Plans instead of a 401k plan. Looks like I have some research to do, now, as I haven’t the slightest idea how SEP IRAs work.
I’ve been coming the net for info on How To Set Up A Sep Ira, but it’s been slow. This stuff just makes my eyes glaze over.
At least I’ll save some money on taxes. That bite the government takes out of my paycheck just keeps getting more and more painful every year.

Online Checking Accounts

May 26, 2008 on 7:40 am | By admin | In Finance :: Wealth-Building

You know, I’m sick and tired of getting a lousy rate on my savings. I’ve decided to check out online banking. It’s plain to me that most of the options there are a much better deal than I’ve been getting. Sometimes you have to remind yourself that you are lending your money to the bank with these accounts, and they ought to be paying you. It’s not like you get to charge the bank fees when they loan you money, after all. I poked around the net, and settled on Washington Mutual Online Banking as the best option out there. They pay great rates, and don’t charge those ridiculous fees. Who cares if the big banks have more ATMs when they will refund your ATM fees from any other Bank? Now I can use any ATM in town. If you’re not earning a good return, you might want to check them out as well.

Online Checking Accounts

Bank of America stinks, just so you know. I’ve been using them for years just because they have ATMs all over town, but now I’m checking out online banks. There are much better deals to be had there. I mean after all, it’s my money, and I’m lending it to them. They should pay for the privilege. And why should I have to pay fees to them? It’s not like I get to charge them fees when I borrow money from them. Specifically, Bank of the Internet is a great deal. They pay good rates, and don’t charge all of those hidden fees that the big boys are always hitting you with. Online Checking Accounts

I’ve been banking at Wells Fargo for years, but I’m fed up with the lousy rates they pay for their deposit accounts. I’ve decided to look into online checking accounts instead. There are much better deals to be had there, Sometimes you have to remind yourself that you are lending your money to the bank with these accounts, and they ought to be paying you. It’s not like you get to charge the bank fees when they loan you money, after all. I’ve been checking out Bank of the Internet. They’re a pretty good deal. Low fees, good rates, good access. And I can use any bank’s ATM. I know some people have issues with not being able to meet their bankers in person, but honestly I don’t really care about that. More people should check out internet banks instead of big banks.
