There are Currently a Large Number of Nursing Vacancies

The general post-WWII population is aging and the number of medical specialties increasing at a rapid rate. One of the consequences of these two facts is that there are currently a large number of vacancies for nurses. This trend shows no signs of slowing down anytime in the near future. That being said, this is a great time to consider a career in nursing or if you are already a registered nurse, going into a specialty. Some of the hot areas currently are geriatrics, oncology, cardiology, and family planning. In the UK there is a great demand right now for midwives.
