forex, Foreign Exchange, and FX are all terminology which is used to refer to the trading of world currencies.  Trillions of dollars are traded each day in the largest existing market.  Most of all, Forex trading is in the form of speculative, or buying and selling to earn a profit, rather than being business oriented trading.

The trading on the interbank market is between two parties who are trading either on the phone or through electronic networking throughout the world.  The major trading centers are New York, London, Tokyo, Frankfurt, and Sydney.  Because of this the Forex market is in operation 24 hours a day.
