Back pain is suffered my many millions of people who find no long term relief from this complaint; for most people, their only concern is to receive back pain relief medication to dull the pain. While there are a host of prescription medications that help with pain relief, many are doing nothing more than masking the symptoms instead of tackling the underlying cause of the pain. Long term medication of pain killers is something that should be supervised as other problems can occur because of their continued use. The back is under a constant strain throughout our lives and whilst it is very strong, it can be injured without to much difficulty; large numbers of people have caused permanent damage to their backs just by sitting poorly for long periods. Most spinal problems are a result of lifting heavy weights but they can also be caused by lifting even light weights incorrectly, the pain is usually experienced in the lower back. There are a number of natural back pain relief methods that mean you will not have to rely on drugs. Stretching can be effective at reducing back as it relaxes the muscles which are often tense. Success at reducing pain and providing relief has also been found by people using reflexology to the feet; it is a very old natural therapy which helps to relieve many chronic ailments in addition to back pain. Reflexology can also help to improve the body's blood circulation and relax muscles.The Chinese medical art of acupuncture can also be used to help bring back pain relief, something which has only been recognized a short while in the West. If you follow Traditional Chinese medicine then you will know that they believe all people have a unique energy force running through their body called qi or chi. Although the chi can become blocked, it can be released by using thin needles inserted into various points on the body. Acupuncture can be used to treat almost all kinds of ailments including pain relief around the spine and studies made in acupuncture have provided results which are quite astounding.A slower and gentler type of Yoga called Tai Chi, once again from China, is another method of back pain control. Tai Chi focuses on breathing techniques and is a great way to relax your back. Whilst it involves some stretching and breathing exercises it is not too strenuous which means that anyone, young or old can take part in Tai Chi. Regular exercise is also one of the best preventative  medicines  available and can help with back pain relief; it increases physical flexibility generally, but also of the spine, which can aid the prevention of future problems.
